Melanie C. D’Evelyn is Executive Director of Advisory and Capacity Building at One Million Degrees (OMD), where she leads initiatives advancing educational opportunity and economic mobility. She oversees OMD’s national expansion of its evidence-based programming that includes 15 replication sites across four states to improve outcomes for community college students. A Colorado native, she previously led OMD’s Colorado Office, overseeing its partnership with the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) and supporting adult learners through the Adams County Finish What You Started program.
Prior to OMD, Melanie directed Detroit Drives Degrees at the Detroit Regional Chamber Foundation, where she secured over $30M for community college reform and launching nationally replicated debt forgiveness programs. Melanie holds an MPP from Princeton and a BA from Principia College and is a member of Leadership Denver’s Class of 2024. She has been recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business “40 under Forty” and DBusiness Magazine’s “30 in their Thirties” for her civic leadership.
