Building Seamless Career Pathways

Learners rarely follow a single, linear path from education to employment. The Attainment Network helps communities design and strengthen career pathways that connect education, workforce training, and employment opportunities across systems. By aligning learner experiences with employer demand and regional workforce priorities, we help create pathways that are easier to navigate, reduce barriers to progress, and support long-term economic mobility.

CONNECTING LEARNING ACROSS SYSTEMS

Strong career pathways require alignment across K-12 education, postsecondary institutions, workforce organizations, employers, and community partners. We help stakeholders build shared strategies that strengthen transitions between learning and work, reducing unnecessary barriers while helping learners build knowledge, skills, and credentials that retain value throughout their education and careers.

Transfer, Stackability, and Credit for Prior Learning

Learning should build over time, not require learners to start over. We help partners design pathways that recognize and connect learning across institutions, experiences, and credentials. By supporting transferability of credits, stackable credentials, credit for prior learning, dual and concurrent enrollment, and work-based learning (including apprenticeships), we help create more seamless pathways that enable learners to continue progressing toward high-value credentials and meaningful careers.

Aligning Pathways with Opportunity

Effective pathways balance learner aspirations with employer demand and regional workforce priorities. We convene educators, employers, workforce leaders, and community organizations to align pathway design around shared goals, helping ensure learners gain relevant skills while employers have access to the talent needed to support thriving communities and economies.
